Jak is the 21st English Bulldog to serve as the official mascot of Mississippi State University. His formal name is Cristil’s Golden Prince named in honor of the long-time radio voice Jack Cristil. His name is Jak; his title is Bully.
Jak, an American Kennel Club registered English Bulldog, was sired by TaTonka's Golden Sun "Champ" (Bully XX) in October 2014. He took over for Champ in April 2015 at the Maroon and White Spring Football Game.
Jak joins an impressive portfolio of famous university icons and mascots rendered by award-winning national artist Stephen Malkoff.
Malkoff's last collegiate work brings Jak face-to-face with students, alumni and supporters of the 138 year old university located in Starkville, Meridian, Biloxi, and Vicksburg. The print is at home on walls from dorms to offices.
Jak, or more properly called Bully XXI, is rendered in intricate detail on 100% acid free museum-quality Strathmore paper. Each limited edition print is sequentially numbered and personally signed by the artist. The unframed print is 17" x 22½"
The custom framing was selected by the artist. It features maroon leather matting over charcoal grey with a cloak and dagger black wooden frame. Framed prints measure 22" x 28"
