Wormsloe Oaks

Situated on a forested peninsula surrounded by marshes, Wormsloe Plantation was established in 1737 by Noble Jones, one of the first British colonists in the Savannah area. Here, Jones tested his horticultural interests.

The Wormsloe State Historic Site is located ten miles southeast of Savannah's historic district on Isle of Hope. As you enter the site of the old plantation you drive along a picturesque colonnade — nearly a mile long — flanked on both sides by over 400 majestic live oak trees.
